Yesterday John Maxwell lead our sermon in church. To break it down for you, it was impactful and something that I needed to hear and be reminded of, especially this time of year.
In a nutshell and a poorly condensed version, John spoke about treating each other kindly like Jesus did. If we treated each other like Jesus was in each one of us, we would open ourselves up to the BIG picture. Basically, love one another because then you are loving Jesus.
Wow! So the person I yelled at who cut me off in traffic…. yeah….
So the kid who was screaming in Target and I rolled my eyes…. yeah….
So the client who is over a month late on her payment and whom I want to fire… yeah….
Yeah…. I have a lot of work to do. I need to start treating people, including strangers in my life, better.
One way that I can do that is by giving a gift of change through CARE.org. CARE is an online site where you can buy “gifts” for complete strangers. These are not any ordinary gift however. Theses gifts are clean drinking water, animals that can be used as food, and medical supplies to those who desperately need it.
I have given two gifts so far under the “urgent needs” option and want to give even more. I really want to make an impact this holiday season!
And if these gifts sound too expensive, they really aren’t. My gifts so far have been $30 and $28 dollars. You can find gifts on CARE.org for any prie range that you could think of.
So who else wants to give CARE.org a try this giving season?!? Go check them out! It’s never too late to give! #giftsoflastingchange
