Gracious Southern Hostess

November 9, 2015 by J Trogstad Leave a Comment

I love the holiday season!  I love spending time with family, eating really delicious meals, and all that holiday cheer!  I love heading over to friend’s and family’s homes for parties this time of year, but I also LOVE hosting others in our home.

I put together a reminder list {for my absent-minded self!} of all the touches to make being a gracious southern hostess a little bit easier.

    • Keep toiletries {shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrush, floss, lady products – I usually have U by Kotex Liners in my guest’s collection.  It gives lady guests something that will protect them until they can get to the store and buy what they need} in a basket in case guests forget them.
    • Have drinks and snacks ready for guests when they arrive.
    • Help guests carry in their luggage from the car/airport {and offer to print plane tickets upon their departure date}.
    • Have plenty of towels, wash cloths, and toilet paper rolls readily available for you guests so they don’t have to ask. Some guests get a little embarrassed asking for these things.
    • Turn down your guest’s beds at night if you really want to get technical with things.
    • Have your guest’s favorite meal or snack prepared {ask in advance if there are any food allergies or foods that your guess do you not like}.
    • Have some ideas for activities. Don’t try to come up with a list of ideas once your guests have arrived. I am guilty of this!
    • Have small touches like your guest’s favorite flowers or candles.
    • I like to have an info wall in my guestroom. The info frames say welcoming quotes, as well as relative information, like our home phone number and address where they’re staying, and our Wi-Fi password.

The toiletry basket helps in avoiding life’s uncomfortable moments for your guests:
We all know how feeling uncomfortable can strip you of your confidence and can lead to not having fun on your holiday trips {hencc the U by Kotex liners in that toiletry basket!}.  How do you avoid life’s uncomfortable moments? Whether it’s always bringing your essential makeup products with you or creating a check list when packing for a big trip, share how you plan for and avoid those uncomfortable moments.  Visit bringcomfyback.com, where you can upload your own #bringcomfyback selfie for a chance to win a prize and get a $1 off coupon to try U by Kotex® liners for yourself!
